In order to achieve high standards regarding lightfastness, resolubility and stability, Schmincke Horadam watercolours contains only the finest raw materials.
The paints are bound with Kordofan gum arabic from the southern Sahara. Due to the natural source of the binder, the gum arabic does tend to differ slightly year on year. Schmincke continually tests their ingredients and the best of the batch is selected to ensure the highest quality is achieved. This means paint which has dried onto your palette can be easily re-wetted and painted with again.
Artist's pigments in highest possible concentration. With the time-consuming liquid pouring of HORADAM AQUARELL into half and whole pans, Schmincke creates an unusual and unique quality aspect. The liquid watercolour is poured into the pans in 4 stages, each with a drying time of several weeks. The result is a highly concentrated, maximum-yield watercolour that is easy to pick up and paint with a damp brush.
